2003 Aftermarket Shifter *****?
I own a 2003 Ranger XL with the 2.3 and the manual gearbox. The XL shifter ***** are not the same as an XLT and I wanted a low cost upgrade/alternative. (I guess there is a reason an XLT **** is different due to the appearance package)
I would like to replace the **** on my shifter but it doesn't appear to come off. I would like to put on an old school 8ball **** or something aftermarket.
Is this an easy option? Have you replaced your ****?

To take the stock **** off you need a heat gun/blow drier. It is held on with an epoxy that loosens with heat. Out here in the desert, just sitting in the sun it gets hot enough for it to come off. I just gobbed some RTV silicone into the shift **** and carefully pressed it back in taking care to wipe off any excess silicone.
