More help with MAF

Okay guys, I posted about two weeks ago about my check engine light staying on after the introduction of a K&N filter. I was told to reset the computer and spray the MAF with carb cleaner. It worked for about 300 miles. I need directions to the MAF to make sure I got the right thing. Where is it and what does it look like? Does someplace like AutoZone pull codes for this kind of thing?

The MAF is Mass Airflow Sensor,it is located after the filter and senses how much air is going into your engine.I have had quite a few guys bring their vehicles to the dealership after installing an aftermarket airfilter, usually the ones that are oiled, the oil contamination gets onto the sensor and causes an incorrect reading causing the check engine light to come on.I am not sure but have been told that auto-zone will pull your codes for you for free.Hope this helps.

Autozone does pull codes for free. The oil on the filter is probably causing your problem. They come absolutely soaked with oil and it can contaminate the MAF regularly for several thousand miles. The best thing to do is put the old filter back in and let the K&N sit in a cardboard box for several days to let the excess oil drain off it.
