grinding noise

on my 98 150 i have a growling noise when i make right turns can somebody give me an idea where to start

Is your truck 4x4 or 4x2?
Does the noise sound like front or back?
How fast are you going when it makes the noise?

The growling noise that you have when you turn is coming from wheel bearings. Check wheel bearing first. When you lean when you turn and put weight on the wheel bearing that is bad it will growl.

I'm getting a growling also, a 98 f150 4x4. The noise seems/feels like it's coming from the front left wheel. I only hearing it when I'm braking and almost at a stop, say the last 5-7 feet before stopping. Would this also be a bearing? Brakes seem fine, I had a look at pads and rotors (they were changed 6 months ago)...
