IAC no spring inside?

IAC no spring inside?
my truck started to make a loud noise and from what i read on hear it was the IAC so i picked up on from autozone. the problem is when i went to replace it the new one didn't have a spring on the inside like the old one. i wish i could put up a pic of what i'm talkin about but my camera is dead. does there need to be a spring in there or should i take it back and get it replaced?

I noticed the same thing when I replaced mine. My IAC came from NAPA though. I think they put the spring on the inside instead of where you can see it. So far I haven't noticed any problems so I think you're alright.

ok i went ahead and put the new one on and in my hanes manual it says the if u unplug it that the engine's rpm's should drop or it should even stall. if the IAC was working right, with the new part it didn't stall like with the old one, the rpm's dropped and it acted like it was going to stall. so i'm guessing its working. but i can still hear a humming noise from in the cab. does anyone know what else could be causing this? oh thanks for the reply, now i'm not so worried.
