With a 400 +0.030 and flatop pistons (9.0:1 CR) a 600 CFM carb dual plane intake and headers and the following cams we get:
The lower the overlap, the smoother the idle.
The lower the DCR, the lower octane required.
Although they will all need at least 91 octane, the XE262 will need 93.
- 268H T = 439@2000 , 423@ 3500 RPM HP = 303@4500 RPM
- 265DEH T = 437@2000, 424@3500 RPM HP = 314@4500 RPM
- XE262 T= 446@2000, 427@3500 RPM HP = 306@4500 RPM
- 268 IVC = 60 Degrees, Overlap = 50 Degrees, DCR = 7.97:1
- 265DEH IVC = 58.5 Degrees, Overlap = 48 Degrees, DCR = 8,05:1
- XE262 IVC = 57.0 Degrees, Overlap = 46 degrees, DCR = 8.14:1
