I have a 2000 X, V-10 and have recently expr. problems with starting. I turn the starter over and the engine starts for a few seconds and stalls.... and wont stay running. After pumping gas pedal and several more attempts of starting, the engine turns over and I have to rev. engine. The engine then runs fine? The computer is not showing any codes and it only seems to do it after the truck sets for a while. Outside temp not a issue, as I live in FLA. X only has 50,000 miles. Any suggestions?
It could be as simple as your battery terminal connections. I had the same problem with a Jeep grand Cherokee and even though there was no visible corrosion, I cleaned both posts and that worked for me. Worth a try!
It is possible that the keys and the transponder system aren't getting along too well. Does using the other key(s) make any difference? Sometimes the vehicle anti theft security system is more of a hassle than it's worth.

The way I see it, both these solutions go hand in hand. Sometimes when the PATS isn't getting enough power, it probably messes up and doesn't know whether to let the truck start, or kill the engine. But then again, it could just be the IAC valve. So many possible solutions, but only one could be right. Inspite of what I've said, I'd go with the IAC valve and work my way down.
