I have a 67 ford F100. I cannot get it to start, I can hear the silinoid but only getting 1amp to starter. I have three wires that come out of the firewall. one goes to the manifold one to the coil and cannot figure where the other plugs into. If anyone can help please respond.
You will not get much amperage to the starter unless it is turning. Voltage is what makes it work. Amperage only becomes a concern once it is turning. It sounds like a bad starter. The other wire should be going to the oil pressure sender.
EDIT: It could also be a bad battery. Try and jump start it.
