transmission fuild change.

I've read most of the threads on the transmission fuild change. I have a 2000 xlt with a v10. When rotating the engine to find the plug on the torque converter which way do you turn the engine? I plan on using a 1/2 ratchet with a pipe extention. clockwise or counter or just start the motor and look at it and go with that?

The x has 53k and I like to change out the fuel filter. I've read the hayes manual and it says to bleed off the fuel pressure at the fuel manifold. It has a tire type valve. Do I need to bleed it of can I loosen the fuel filter and let it bleed off under the truck?

I've had the truck for few weeks and it is awesome. I been lurking these formums for about 4 months. Alot of great advice here. After I get the fuilds all change out and regualar maintance up to date. I like to do the rear sway bar and put some new shocks on.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but here is another way to change your ATF. I've used it and I think it is MUCH easier.

Pull the fuel pump fuse with the engine running. This will kill the engine and relieve any fuel pressure.

Engine rotates clockwise.

Look in the Technical Articles for the preferred way to change the tranny fluid in your 4R100.
