well its been a while but the problem is back in my truck. the thing keeps stalling out when i take my foot off the throttle, heres the kicker the enitre fuel system is new 1200 dollers worth i've cleaned the carb new fule filter (one) brand new IAC moter. all winter i thought it was not working but it was. the last deep freeze we had on the east cost killed my battery, water pump, and water hoses. got all that fixed and it ran right for a week now it runs rough with my foot on the throttle at low rpm and stalls out when i take my foot off only when it is warn and i noticed is that it has very low oil pressur when it is warm thats when i noticed the stalling problem HELP!!!!!!!!!
Hmm i guess its possible it could very possibly be vacuum leaks... or it could have a oil pressure sensor tied into the computer thats causing it to stall... Or very possibly it could be your TFI module on the distributor failing.
(I think these trucks had TFI for 84, i'm not sure though.) If it is the TFI its about $40 to replace, and requires one special socket that the parts store should cary to remove it.
Its better to replace these things anyways, they were garbage from the factory....
