I am trying to purchase a 2001 F-350 XLT 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel. The few things I have found that do concern me are:
1. POWER MIRRORS WORK IN ALL DIRECTIONS EXCEPT DOWN
2. A/C FAN MOTOR WORKS ONLY ON HIGH SPEED
3. POWER DOOR LOCKS DO NOT SEEM TO WORK PROPERLY
If anyone here has had those problems, please let me know on the appropriate actions that were taken to fix them. Also does anyone know if any of these items could have been recalls.
I have also used CARFAX.COM, not being a customer I could only find out that the VIN number I entered came back with 6 hits.
Is this from a dealer or a private sale? As mentioned, if it's from a dealer ask them to fix and warranty the problems. If it's from a private individual ask them to have Ford fix the problems. All service performed by Ford is under warranty for some period of time. You can also request that the dealer give you a carfax report. If not, it's not that much money and is worth it.
It is not from the dealer but from a local used car lot. At the price they are asking I would rather get the price down, better for me, and fix the problem myself. I did call the dealership with the problems, they told me what the problem could be. The parts are not that expensive. It is a very nice truck that both me and my wife like. I will propably go ahead and get it. If it was from a Ford lot they would probaly fix the questioned items and warrenty them, but I do not think the used car lot would.
