1971 F250 Turn signal switch

Does anyone know where I can buy a turn signal switch for a 1971 F250? I have a 1975 F100 I can pull parts off of...

The 1975 switch is different. I think it has the 4 way flasher built into it. Autokrafter.com lists the switch for $60 for a 65-72 2wd w/o cruise control.. I'd also check with ObsoleteFordParts.com for even less costs.

Most local parts hoses will have them, or can order them for you.

Is it the same part that a '70 F-100 has? If it is, then it's a two piece part. The small one that moves back and forth (attaches to the arm) could be found easily, but the larger part the other one sits inside with the wiring I could only find at a dealership. They still had a few of em around, so I picked one up! If it turns out that you need this piece I'd say either go to your local dealership or try online. Because the 3 or 4 parts places here didn't have one and couldn't get it.

Yeah I tried Carquest, JK Auto Parts, AutoZone, and Advance Auto Parts and none of them had it or could get it. Theres still a couple I can try. I found this one http://pic1.picturetrail.com/VOL139/...5/49687243.jpg do you think itll fit? If so Ill probably go head and order it. This is N.O.S. by the way.

Heres the part# D1TZ-13341-A

Will this one fit? If so Ill probably buy it.

I could tell if the picture were clearer and it was flipped over. It looks like it's got the indention for the other piece to rock back and forth but it's hard to tell by looking at it from this side.

Edit: I went out and took a look at mine as best as I could without taking off the steering wheel - they appear to be different parts. But I have a '70 F-100 and you have a '71 F-250. Here's how they're different - even though the picture is taken of the back side (what you'd see if you looked out from the steering column) I don't think mine has that box-shaped piece on the bottom. Other than that, they look pretty similar except that mine seems smaller. It's NOS also. The surest way to tell if it's the same part your truck needs is to pull the steering wheel and compare. You can get a great view of it with the wheel out. What years and models did they say the one in the picture fits?

I looked all over the place for my old part and the box but it's nowhere to be found. I'm pretty sure I kept it but of course someone moved what little I have in the garage around, probably so they could pile more into it. I'll keep looking around for it.

The guy said it fits 71 F250...but when I looked the part number up I think it is a part number for F600s and other big trucks. Does anyone know of a universal turn signal switch thatll fit? I dont care if it doesnt return or something..

Turn signal switches are readily available.

I've found 3 sources: Auto Krafter.com, ObsoleteFordParts.com and LMCtruck.com. The cheapest is Obsolete at $39.95.

From the looks of it, I'm not convinced that it'd fit in my steering column. Also, I had to do a bit of soldering with the NOS one to attach a few connectors. You might not need to but if you do, some soldering paste or something to get the solder to stick onto the part is essential here.

If you're going to remove the part, tie a piece of string to the wires before you pull out the switch. When you remove it, the string will get pulled into the steering column. When you're ready to install the new one, tie the string to the wires and pull them through. That'll make life much easier.

Thanks! Thats exactly how I was planning on doing it too. I was too tired to pull that bytch last night so Im planning on doing it this weekend. I would like to swap the engine out too but I am still trying to chase down an 11.5 inch flywheel and clutch kit or trying to see if an 11 inch clutch and flywheel will fit. Looks like its gonna be a long weekend. Oh well. Last weekend I pulled the engine, and this weekend I was planning on installing it. Damn this 11.5 inch stuff arrggghhhhhhh
