Does anyone know the type of script or lettering style ford uses for their Blue oval? that says FORD!
I'm making a sign for my shop and want to replicated the lettering they use.I need to make templates to spray paint letters on a sign.
I've tried all types in print shop and other software and can not find a match.
Any Ideas?

I believe the Ford script is unique, that is, not a standard font type. When I did my 54 F100, I bought a 52 Tailgate so it would have
Ford(script) not F O R D on it. I located a really nice guy who has a sign business and had him make me two vinyl chrome scripts to place on top of the embossed one on the tailgate. I don't have the name etc handy, but can get it from home tonight. I actually sent him a penciled shadow from the tailgate, and tried unsuccessfully to make an impression in some aluminum foil. The mail service crushed that, but he did a good job from the pencil image. You can see the tailgate in the second picture under my website under the 54f100 link.

Rich, give this site a shot. If nothing else, there is a forum there where all they do is talk about fonts. I'm sure that there is some font genius who can help you out.

Actually, its not unique. Henry Ford picked the letters from a box of metal type fonts because they were the best looking font in the set he got. Pretty neat trivia..... :-)
