can you adjust the shift points on this trans 94 250 non turbo 4x4
just had it rebuilt new hd tourqe converter

cuold use the input
Yes,the fipl, also called a tps on the side of the ip can be adjusted to smooth out the shift. On a warm engine, shut off,key in run pos,the plug on the filp has 3 wires on it,you are looking for 1.0v between the middle wire+ and neg off the batt.If its not 1.0v loosen the 2 torx screws on the sensor(the ones that go through the slotted bracket)and rotate sensor to achieve your 1.0v.Some of these sens are pretty sensitive so you may have to do it a couple of time, test driving it each time to find a setting suited to your driving style, good luck.
mine does the same thing on my 94 turbo. i might be able to do the things you said but im new to this and do not know what all the abreviations are.(ip, fipl, tps) where are these things located also?
butch a 250 d: Has anyone every messed with your valvebody? Drilling certain holes in the valvebody will cause late and hard shifts. Also, if you get the updated ECU installed it will shift better.
IP: Injection pump
FIPL: Fuel Injector Position Lever (sensor)
TPS: Throttle Position Sensor. (Essentially the same as the FIPL - diesels have FIPL's gassers have TPS's)
