Quick Timing Belt Question
If I'm going to change my radiator would this also be a good time to replace the timing belt since from what I gather you need to remove the radiator to replace it anyway? How often does the timing belt need to be changed? I've got about 130k on the truck and I don't think it's ever been touched.

well since the belt has 140k miles on it then it needs to be changed. the recommendation for a timing belt is generally 60k but some are 100k. my trucks timing belt was original on my 91 2.3 which had 235k miles on it when i changed it.

Ranger timing belt
You do not have to pull the radiator to do the job. Just pull the plastic cover over the belt. You also have to swing the a/c comp out of the way along with it's bracket. Crank pulley also.Do not disconnect the a/c lines. Job took me about an hour and a half.

I have a '94 4.0L. Any special tools or skills need for the timing belt change? I'm kind of limited when it comes to knowledge or tools. I'm just starting to learn how to do this all myself. I was going to buy a Haynes or Chilton manual to see what they say too. Although from what I've heard they aren't always that great. Thanks again.
