300 inch straight six

Two Questions:

How does the 300 inch straight six perform / hold up in the heavy duty trucks?

I know Ford stopped putting the 300 inch six in the F-150 with the new design in '97, but is it still available in the F250/350 (since it is a different new design)? It would be a shame if the engine were no longer available in new trucks.

Ford no longer uses the 4.9L(300ci) in any of their vehicles. If you are looking for a six cylinder then you will have to settle for a F-150 with the 4.2L V6.
