Help - radio display not working.

Hi everyone, I have a very minor problem that is really turned into a major one! I have a 99 EB expedition with the 6 disc console mounted CD changer and the tape player in the dash. The problem is that the display on the radio just quit working. It is driving my wife nuts (so it now drives me nuts). Anyone else have this trouble? Is there a fuse, a bulb or something that I can change to fix it? Do I have to replace the whole head unit? It still comes on every now and then wich makes me think that it is a short in the radio itself.

Any help is much appreciated.

No bulbs on those units. Its probably a bad circuit board for the display. Easier to find another one in salvage or Ebay.

thanks for the info, I am thinking that I am going to use this opportunity to upgrade to an in dash cd changer.

I used the shareamemory fix, and so far so good, still works.
