2000 Performance
I recently ordered a 2k Superduty SC 4x4 SWB XLT with the V-10. (415cubic inches for those who are wondering) I opted to stay with the manual transmission. I would like to put a cat back exhaust system and an air filter kit on as soon as I get it. (sometime in May I hope) I was wondering if anyone has done this, and how does it sound!!! I know I am not buying a sport car but with the V-10 does this truck move? The test drive I took was in a 99 with the 5.4 and a auto, O.K. but I would like a little more. This is a great page for current and future Superduty owners!!!!!

I testdrove:
F250 4x4 5.4L auto 4.10LS.It felt 'ok', (decent acceleration), but I'm not a fan of automatic trannys and I didn't like when it shifted.. I always think that automatics shift too much, just my opinion.
F250 4x4 V10 auto 3.73LS. Although a little perkier than the 5.4L but not enough to sell me on the V10. But it did confirm that I wanted the 5sp manual tranny.
I now own
Y2K F250 XLT SC 4x2, 5.4L, 4.10LS.
This feels alot better than the 5.4L auto tranny I testdrove.. I bet the V10 with the manual is a real monster! You'll love it.

I have a K&N and Borla cat-back. To be honest, I really never noticed much gain in mpg or power. The Borla is OK, just a bit louder than the stock muffler. There is no deep rumble like some V8's make. I have read many posts from others who can't seem to find a system that makes good sound. It's the V10. Sounds like no other. Borla told me that their system only makes about 7-10 hp. A guy from Banks told me that Ford has the V10 tuned near perfect and aftermarket goodies don't do all that much. If I were to do it over again, I wouldn't go with the most expensive(Borla) and go with a Dynomax or Gibson.
