Airbag codes 19 + 29

Hi,

Does anyone know what codes 19 and 29 are?? Im not sure if the year matters but it is for a 2002 f150.

Has your airbag system recently been worked on? Has your truck been crashed?
A Light Flash Code 19 means Restraint Control Module Crash data memory is full and the cure is to replace the RCM.
The code 29 means the RCM doesn't think it's in the vehicle it belongs in. It has an Incorrect Vehicle Identification Code.

Yes the truck is wrecked. I got a set of air bags and computer to replace the old ones, but with the new computer I get code 29. If I put the old computer in I get code 19.

The new computer is a used computer out of a truck that was hit in the rear so the bags did not deploy. Do I need to get the computer reset or something??

Was the RCM out of the same type of truck? Not a SuperCrew part going into a regular cab or something like that?

Actualy the RCM was from a 2000 expedition. I am guessing they are not interchangable. Thats my luck!!!

I would maybe take the part numbers off both RCMs and see if your dealer can cross them over. They should be able to tell you if they interchange or not.
