F250 Trani Problems

My 96 F250, 2WD Auto trani is acting up. When I put it in gear with the brake on, the engine dies. It's like the torq converter is prematurly engaging. Any help would be appreciated.

There was a similar post about this recently, might try a search, but I think someone came up with a bad solinoid(sp) causing the torque converter to lock up and stay locked up. Hope this helps.

By the way, welcome to FTE!

Thank You

Thanks for the feedback; but I can't seem to find anything in "torque converter solenoids".

I'll keep looking.

Well, I've been searching for a while now and I came up with some stuff for you:
This is somewhat relevant:

This is what I was talking about I think:

Pulling the codes off the computer might tell you the problem as well, then maybe a tranny flush.

Good Luck.
