Replace timing Belt ??

Think I should replace the serpentine belt on my V10 F250
SD (140,000 miles), I''ve read the Haynes instructions and it seems pretty simple. Has anyone got any futher info, advice or stories to tell before I start?

Nope.

It's a breeze to change.

And...it's not the timing belt.

Use a 1/2 breaker bar with short extension, really easy to change.

It is very easy......just follow the diagram on the fan shrowd....140,000 miles WOW are you lucky......is it the original to the truck? They should be changed around 40 to 50K........also......get someone to help you from the top or the bottom of the engine just to help line things up....because our trucks are so darn tall!!!!!!!!! but it is a breeze..

And you scared me about the timing belt thing!!!!

Talking Just in time

OK, not the timing chain, the serp. belt , but you all know what I meant. Its not been my truck from new so dont know if it is the first belt. Glad I changed is though as it was in pretty bad shape, all 8 ribs missing across the full width in places!!
Anyway your right, it is easy, 10-15 mins - job done and drinking a cold one. Best Sunday afternoons work yet. Thanks Guys.
