I just spoke with my dealer and he told me that there are transportation problems and that I am now looking at a arrival date of 1-30-2000 to 2-6-2000. @#$%!!!. He also mentioned something about an IMPORT problem. Could my 2000 F-350 CC 4X4 PSD be made out of the US ??? I though all superduties were made in Kentucky.
My truck was built on Dec. 27 and had an arrival date of Jan 17. I went to pick it up yesterday assuming it would be there since it had been on the train for five days already - WRONG! It now has an arrival date of Feb 5. The dealer says it is sitting at some train station (probably in Dallas) waiting to be pulled to Houston. And on top of that, he can't send a trailer to get it because they won't release it to him. This whole process of building and shipping vehicles needs some serious overhaul!
I think you will be disappointed to find out the Superduty is also produced in Mexico. If you live in a southern state you might very well be getting one. It saves on shipping time. You might want to confront the dealer about this. If it was made in Kentucky it will have a sticker on the passenger side windsheild.
I am surprised to hear the Super Duty is being built in Mexico. My dealer (I'm in Virginia) told me that my F250 SD Crew Cab is coming from Kansas. I ordered it 11/02/99 and there is still no word when it will be built. I'm told there are 15 - 20 ahead of me and 60 or 70 behind me. He also told me that if one were to order today, it would be a 2001 and would not arrive before August 2000. I understand that the SD 350 is the only truck built in Kentucky.
Your understanding is incorrect. Any F-Series SuperDuty can come from the Kentucky plant. I ordered a F250 CrewCab last March. It came from the kentucky plant, got the sticker on the window to prove it. GREAT TRUCK!!!!!
Thanks for setting me straight on the trucks that come out of Kentucky. Maybe with a little luck Ford will pull these plants together and we will all get our trucks soon!
