paint question

Started painting my 56 250 today. Painting with acrylic enamel w/ harder. Bed and tailgate turn out good. Fenders were another matter. Knocked into one fender on the final coat. The other fender has excessive trash . Question... How long should I wait to sand out and repaint? Paint is a little too expensive to make many more mistakes like that! I would appreciate any insight. Thanks!!

You're lucky. You used hardener.

Give it a day or so before you sand. If the sandpaper starts to load up, wait a while longer.

Thanks Aekisu. Supposed to be ~80 degrees tommorrow. I may set them out in the sun in the morning and test sand them after church.

hmmm.... be VERY careful when putting them out in the sun even with hardner in the paint when the paint is so fresh. The paint could possiblily wrinkle!!! To be on the safe side, wait about a week IF not 2 weeks before attempting to repaint those items.
