tire/gearing combo...
I'm wanting to build an 80-86 F-250 4x4 with heavy duty axles and larger tires with a possible 300-6 and ZF 5 spd manual combination...I'd like information on what gearing would work best with tires from stock size up to roughly 33" traction tires...this will replace my current daily driver (see signature) once I get it complete...the reason for this project is that my current pick-up may not last much longer...either the motor will quit or the front end will fall off drivin down the highway...

For 33's and a daily driver 4.10's work well. If you are into rock crawling and off roading a lot then you may want 4.56's. If you are putting in heavy duty axles you can probably find them w/ 4.10's already which would save you some money. If you go to superlift's website and click on the section, gearing up for tall tires it will tell you how to compute your RPM's w/ each tire size and gear choice. There is also a chart w/ gears and then each tire size and what type of performance to expect.
