Needing to pre-oil a fresh 292 that has sat for 2 years..... changed the oil, pulled the distributor and got a 1/4 deep socket on an extension chucked up in a variable speed drill, spun the pump shaft counter clockwise for a minute or two, expecting to see oil at the rocker shafts, but no dice...
There appears to be a fair amount of resistance when turning the shaft, and I can hear the pump making some faint clicking noises, which indicates to me that it's pumping oil, but I'm not seeing any at the rockers...
Am I doing something wrong or is it possible that the pump is having problems of some sort...???
thanks for any help.

thanks for the quick response... not sure if the cam is cross-drilled, but I'll rotate the motor a bit... gotta put the distributor back in first so I can make some new marks on the firewall to keep from getting lost...
what's the significance of the cross-drilled vs. not cross-drilled...???
