After vehicle warms up and sits for 10 - 20 minutes it can be difficult to start. Most times have to open up the throttle just a little for it to start, otherwise it sputters then dies. I have checked all the sensors and all seem to be operating properly. Have also done several fuel pressure checks and it holds pressure for over 30 minutes. One thing I question, when it is running and I remove the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator there does not seem to be a significant change in RPM's.
I would appreciate any suggestions any of you might have as to the problem.
Sounds like a classic case of a bad IAC valve (Idle Air Control). Fact that you stated you must give throttle pretty much pins it down. You can try removing and cleaning with choke cleaner or other. Some have had luck doing this, others had to replace.
As for the vac line removal from pressure regulator, you will prob not see any RPM deviation doing this. Specs on earlier models state only a 5 PSI increase, so probably would not be noticeable.
Dialtone
Dialtone, thanks for the advice. I had tried cleaning it earlier but it did not help so I replaced it today. I still have the same problem. When the engine is warm it sputters unless I give it some gas and sometimes feather the pedal to get it running. I did notice it idles about 150 rpms higher with the new IAC.
Any other ideas where to look. I keep running into dead ends and don't know where to look because everything seems to be operating. Sure it is something simple.
