dually's run the dana 70 rearend. I haven't heard of making the 10.25" into duals. your best bet is to find a factory dually to rob the rear from. make sure it's a factory bedded dually because the factory cab & chassies use a norroer frame.

Good idea on using the Dana 70. It's a stronger axle anyways and would be a bolt-in swap as long as the gear ratio is the same. You didn't say what year your truck is. I don't know what year they started using it, but the later trucks (say, ~'89 and up) have a speed sensor in the rear axle for the ABS and electronic speedo. I think dually's also used different width rear springs, but I don't know if that would be an issue as long as you use your current springs.
