Loud Front Differential

I own a 99 F250 SD SC LB 4x4 ESOF automatic,and have a loud whining noise coming from the front axle when in 4 wheel drive,while driving on pavement at about 38mph and faster. Is this normal on these trucks? Does anybody else hear the same noise?Its a real pain to have to go back for warranty and would really appreciate any input.I have owned many 4x4 trucks and have only heard noises like this after years of use and abuse-this truck is only 10 months old!

Loud Front Differential

I can't really say that I have ever heard a noise as you describe but I do not regularly run in 4wd when on pavement at any speed above 25 or maybe 30 mph. I do not have ESOF either I have manual hubs. I do get a sort of low growling sound in 4wd when moving very slowly uphill over very rock terrain. This is my first Ford 4wd in many years and I have not had the chance to drive or ride in someone elses to see if theirs does the same.
