Damn I am jealous! I have the 4.6 and with about a 1000 miles on it. My best so far is 15.3 and that is almost all highway at 70 mph.

I guess they say 4.6=all of the gas and none of the power!

3500 Miles on 4x4 Lariat SCAB - I get 11 around town (most of my driving is in town this time of year) but a recent 1200 mile trip averaged over 17 at 70 mph. And that was with about 1100 lbs in the bed.

Has anyone tested the mileage with the tailgate down? I'm curious since Ford raised the bed sides up 2", that gate must be a huge air brake.

Lariat Screw, 4X4, 5.4, 4000 miles. 12 for general driving - mostly short trips in hilly country. 16 on the few highway trips I've taken.

Lariat screw 4x4 @1000 miles on it, 13.7mpg ,mixed city & highway, according to the on board mpg readout. I have not actually figured it out myself yet.

You don't buy this truck for fuel economy. At least not with the 5.4 liter engine. I get no better than 12- 13 in town. On the hwy I've gotten as high as 19 when I kept at 70 or below. I have a topper on my sliver and charcoal SCrew 4X4 with nearly 7K miles.
