Air suspension
I recently bot a 1999 Ford F250 from an individual. This truck has an air suspension system in the rear and I had to replace the air bags at a dealer to the tune of about $800. Does anyone out there know where I can get information on this system that will answer questions such as, how does the system work?, what maintainance is required?, is the air pressure adjustable?, etc. Also does Ford Motor Co., have a customer service tele no or address? Thanks for any help someone can give me.

i dont know what system you have but my air ride super duty air bag cost about $250.00 new. you said someone charged you $800.00 for a repair? my system has standard schrader(tire valve stems) valves for the air.you pump them up and check the pressure just like a tire

Man, did you get ripped off! I bought Firestone bags for $235 hardware, hoses and everything. I believe mine are just like wlihntr's. I still have the stock springs and put on Rancho rs9000 shocks. It handles anything I have towed or loaded.
