hi guys, has any one heard about a company over there reproducing a large window conversion in steel for the 57 - 60 cab?,a bloke i know building a pro street 60 tell me he knows for a fact, he just can't tell me who...cya...gary
Man, that's news to me. In fact, the November 2003 issue of Custom Classic Trucks has an article on how to do a '57 - '60 conversion. To quote the article,
"If you're doing a '56 F100, you can buy a conversion kit from John's F-100 in Anaheim, Ca. for around $900. But, no such kits are available for '57 and later trucks".
This article uses a donor cab, and goes through the process of the conversion. It's pretty kool. Better start lookin' for a donor. I know where there's a '60 BBW (no, not Big Beautiful Woman!) that's just kinda sitting there, but I've got dibs on that one!
There are a couple of big windows close to me, a 57 and a 59both long beds, 57 looks pretty nice, its straight and for sale, the 58 is just sitting in a driveway. the 57 price is 1450.00
I've never heard of any company either. I don't think there would be enough business with the 57-60's. Too many big windows produced. In our case, it would be cheaper buying a bigwindow cab and doing bodywork. 1956's are expensive so the coversion kits are made for those. Follow? -4speed
