Ok, guys lets put our thinking cap on. I have a 03 ford f150. I bought some gauges. One is to get a REAL oil pressure and the other is a trans temp. My question is where to mount them. Its not like my old cars you had a large dashbord to hand a bracket. This truck has no dashboard to do this....any ideas...and I really don't like that gauge pod.
I have an aftermarket tach and i dont really like the A-pillar look so i put it on top of the dash ( right next to the A-pillar ), had to make a couple wholes but i dont plan on taking it off so thats fine and it looks good. if you dont like that idea i would go with the pillar idea. good luck
I don't really any ideas so far....I would like just somehow mount it under dash..somehow. I did see someone cutting dash on the right side of steering column.
I put my trans temperature gauge in the dash to the right of the steering column. It's viewable just under the arc of the transmission selector lever, and I think it looks good. Got a VDO which looks like the OEM gauges (white on black with a red pointer). Had to use an amber bulb under the green illumination sleeve to match existing dash lights.
It's a VERY tight fit, so be sure to check and measure before cutting. I would also like a voltmeter, but haven't done that yet. Probably will get a green LED digital type to match the radio, and not duplicate the look of the existing pseudo-gauge.
