This might be a stupid question but Ill ask it anyway. I got my new truck 2 weeks ago aand this is my first new truck, so Im kinda new at this. Do I have to take my truck to the ford dealership where I bought it or any dealership for that matter, to get it serviced, have the oil changed, etc....to keep my warranty? thanks....
You can take it to any dealer. Some folks think that if you go back to the selling dealer you get better service, specials and such, which may be true. In any case, any Ford dealer should be able to do your work.
yes, I understand that. but Id like to know if i can to a any service shop i choose, specifically the one Ive taken my trucks to for years, or if i HAVE to take it A ford dealership.
For oil changes etc, you can go anywhere. I do most general maintenance myself.. I keep reciepts of the parts (filters, oil, etc) I buy as proof that I'm changing the oil on a regular basis..
To have any defects in the truck fixed under warranty, (ie for free), then it must be taken to a ford dealer.. All Ford dealers must honor the warranty terms of the FoMoCo warranty.. You'll get the same 'quality' service at all of them, but if you goto your buying dealership, you may be able to get that service a little quicker..
I bet the reason your asking this question, is because you received a letter from the service department that very strongly implies that if you don't take the truck to them for service, the warranty will be void..
I received one of these letters.
Thank you very much!! That was what I was looking for. Actually, i havent recieved anything from them yet. i was just concernd that I would have to take it to my ford dealership which is about 30 miles away every 300 miles, as oposed to the shop I usually take it to which is about 600 feet. Thanks!!
