HP differences between 5.4Ls?
Specifically:
HP Torque
150/Expedition 260@4500 345@2300
F-250SD 235@4250 335@3000
Can anyone confirm or deny this and offer any explanation if true?

All 5.4L's in the SuperDutys are 260hp now..
Back in early 99, when Ford made the 'upgrade' on the 5.4L's to boost the hp/torque, they put those engines in the F150's first..
So, for a short period of time, the F150's were getting the newer 260hp engines, and the SuperDuty was getting the existing 235hp..
In all Y2K models of SuperDuty and F150's, the 5.4L is the same 260hp version..
I don't regret it a bit, the Superduty is awsome!
One thing the F150 has going for it is that it does weigh 1000 lbs less, so it will be a little more agile and quick when empty than the SuperDuty..
SC 4x4 5.4L 5sp with 4.10 LS this time next month. I am very curious about the performance of your truck. Sounds like I am getting a truck similar to yours. I'm very anxious to start the mods already!!!!!!

Y2K F250 XLT SC 4x2 5.4L 5sp 4.10LS white/ grey interior, 40/20/40 seat, lt265/75r16 tires, cab steps, am/fm/cd, sliding rear window, power mirrors.
Little comments, (saving the best for last):
cab steps: allows wife and children to enter without putting on climbing harnesses.
seatbelts: A tiny bit of a reach, mostly because I'm relatively short (5'5")
40/20/40: At first, my arm/wrist felt it was at a weird angle to shift when the console is down.. I'm used to it now.. Seats are big and comfy.
power mirrors: instead of TT mirrors, so it would fit in my garage. I have a rectangular spot mirror attached to the right mirror which takes care of the blind spot.. If you have TT mirrors, this is already built in.
rear sliding window: unlike my old ranger, I cant reach it when I'm driving.. Oh well, I guess I'll push the A/C button instead..
Tranny:shifting is a little bit stiff, always start in 2nd gear as 1st is a creeper used only to get heavy loads rolling. The tranny will loosen up in time I bet. It shifts like a truck, not a car.
Engine: Very smooth and I'm easily able to keep up with traffic from light to light.. Sure, its not sports car or a V10, but its no dog either..
It does have a 'flutter' sound on acceleration that sounds much like a light ping, but its really just because of the way the exaust is setup and is not a ping or detonation..
The whole combo 5.4L 5sp 4.10 is a really good setup. I never have to shift outta (5th)OD when I'm cruising at 55/65 mph, even with 800 to 1000 lbs in the bed, traveling through West Virgina mountains. At 55/65, your at around 1900/2200 rpms which right where the engine likes to be..
My overall mpg with mixed city/highway driving is 15.5mpg.. On a recent trip where it was mostly highway, I averaged 17.4mpg.
I expect you'll see slightly less mpg with your 4x4 vs my 4x2 and conservative driving..
With the 5sp, I think the truck feels almost as snappy as ones with the V10+automatic, and definatly better than a 5.4L+automatic..
Mods: almost none, bed mat, and a shorter antenna (from wal-mart) so it doesn't hit the garage door on the way in/out.
I still look back at it in the parking lot when I'm walking into the building at work. Its the nicest (and probably the biggest) ride in the lot.
