No it doesn't. I just added an amp to my X. You need to put (or have a shop put) in an adapter that taps into the speaker wires. Don't know exactly what it is called but it is a high to low adapter with rca outputs. Costs about $15-$20.
Second glares response. No jack in back. I just pulled the radio because the changer part is dead. I bought a replacement unit from eBay with just a single CD. Changers are nice, but that's a lot of extra moving parts that can go wrong. It takes twenty seconds to unload a CD, grab another from the visor CD holder and put in a new one. Changers have a s---load of plastic gears and extra servo's that have to work in concert to grab a CD from a slot and play it. No thanks.
Of course, maybe I'm just a little bitter that the changer died in the first place.
I kept the stock changer for now. Eventually when any part of it goes out I will change the head unit. I have already put out enough money for a lift, wheels and tires for the time being. So head unit will have to wait.
I have a 2001 X with the 6 disc head unit and would like to add an amp. Does it has rca jacks in the rear of the stock head unit?
The factory headunit does not have RCA jacks; you need to purchase line level convertors that convert the output to RCA jacks and a level that an amplifier can make use of. They are only a few dollars.
