sub ohms

I just bought a Rockford 650 watt 4 channel amp from my freind thats only one year old. Should I buy 2, 4 or 8 ohm subs (two 10 inch) and how should I wire them so they pound the hardest. Thanks for any help.

It would help if you were more specific about the amp. What model#?

Sorry, The verification certificate says modle 500x all channels driven to full power at 2 ohms=653 watts

I'd get two 4 ohm and wire them in parallel to create a 2 ohm load on the amp.

I'm fairly new to car audio so how do i wire them parallel and there is a little switch on the side that goes fron 2 to 4 ohms. do i switch it to 2 ohms

considering that it is a four channel amp
I would probably run it bridged -2 channells to each sub
and use 4ohm single voice coil subs
that is a very simple setup and you should have no amp troubles with that
