Ford Slips
However, when delivered the vehicle did not have the limited slip option installed. This was verified by checking the window sticker and a physical inspection of the differential. It took me over a month to get a refund from the dealer for the invoice cost of this option and that was only accomplished after sending certified copies of all documentation to the owner of the dealership.
The lesson to be learned here is not to trust any written order confirmation. When you take delivery of the vehicle check the equipment options very carefully to make sure you are getting what your ordered and paid for. And make sure you keep the window sticker on the vehicle for your reoords in case you encounter any problems.
My guess is that the salesperson went in and deleted the limited slip differential option from the order after I had confirmed it in hopes that no one would ever notice. He seemed very anxious to remove the window sticker at the time I picked up the vehicle. The dealership owner told me that the error might have been an engineering change they were not aware of at the time.
I would make the selling dealer install it if was part of the deal.....Richard
