drop axle

im thinking of putting in a drop axle up front and im not real sure of how much drop to go or even whats available. has anybody done this and was it a pretty straight forward? by the way im doing this on a 49 f-1.

Check out the Suspensions "sticky" at the first of this forum. There are dropped axles on Ebay, item no. 2468630755. The company will probably be able to answer any questions you have after reading the suspension thread.

Tha guy that runs this also does Drop axels f04 the 48-51 Ford trucks. You can buy outright or ship yours in exchange.
I heard some really good things about the work.

Question

Are you taking off the front bumper, removing the frame horns and installing a solid gravel gaurd? With that bumper left in place it is very easy to ground out after you lower the front end. My 54 was very low when I bought it. I could barely get into my driveway. Just a thought. John
