I have an 89 F150 4x4 with a 5.8. It currently has a badly slipping AOD transmission. (electronic shift I think) The C6 is alot easier to find and alot cheaper. Will this transmission bolt right in and work without any mods???? I.E. Transfer Case
Thanks ahead for any help
Physically they should interchange quite easily. You might run into some length differences, and shift linkage may be different as well, but you will have to research that as I don't have an AOD to look at here. Hope that helps.
I also have a parts truck. It has a C6 in it now but it too is slipping. I am going to use it as a core. The biggest worry I am having is the computer getting confused or the transfer case not bolting in place.
Thanks for your replies
The AOD has a detent cable that controls the shifting so you shouldn't have aproblem with that and yest the C6 has a vacuum control. The transfer case should bolt right up.
