I pulled the front and side emblems from my 60 and as usual the front still has a touch of red and sides have no paint in them, my 1st 60 had the red in the ford on the sides but was scraped out to be all chrome. my current set is not going to be used if anyone is interested in them.

Okay, too set the record straight. I was wrong, like kenny said 1960 trucks came with red side emblems. I have confirmed this through a few new pieces of 1960 lit. I got from ebay. You can all finally sleep now! -4speed

Is that Custom Cab only? What about the standard cabs?

The picture I had was a standard cab red shortbed. I have another picture of a custom cab with the emblems too. It's hard to believe, but it's true. -4speed

......I dunno man. I've been working on a project for the past couple weeks, and have seen 8 new trucks around my area. All had the red on the hood, and all had pure chrome side emblems. Stick those pics in your gallery, I ahve to see them for myself.

Kenny

You want to know something weird?
I've come across N.O.S. Hood Badges in the past that instead of having red paint, they were painted BLUE.
They looked so cool too.
Wish I'd have kept better track of my stuff when I was a child or I'd still know where they were.

BLAST!

Cheers

Please trust me on this one. It wasn't only the promo trucks. I've seen tons of 1960 trucks, from way back when they were still considered to be fairly new.

Please send some clearer photos and I will tell what year quik.

Those are from a 60 F100 truck, I have a set of them in my pile of removed and not going back stuff. I have the front emblem as well. and as usual, the sides are missing the red and the front has red still in it

Okay. Well, I am 100% going to paint mine red now. Whether or not they came en masse from the factory that way, they did come painted. I know there were other Effie's cruisin' around back then all dressed up, so mine will be too! Thanks man!

BTW on Ebay now, there is a set off a truck that were white. The paint looks alot older....maybe old enough to be stock???

Aha!! I found a minute trace of red paint left on the tail-feather portion of the passenger-side emblem.
