I have had my sCrew FX4 in for a new power steering pump 3 times now. After about 1500 - 2000 miles on the pump, it gets noisy. My dealer replaced it once and then the second time they said it was a characteristic of the vehicle. So... I drove a brand new one off the lot and guess what? No Noise. So I got the owner of the dealership involved and got a third pump put on. Has anyone else had any problems?

 

Nope. Might just be a quirk with your particular truck. Maybe a line employee was having a bad day the day it was built. Who knows...

 

It's odd that the pump itself has been replaced that many times. Has it truely been replaced or did they do something else? I'd be looking at the rack if the pump has failed that many times...and it's been 3 different pumps.

 

If there is a problem with the rack, it can cause the pump to be noisy & fail prematurely. The noisy pump WAS normal on the old style trucks, but the '04 should be quiet. (unless it's a heritage).

 

i loose my power steering when its cold comes back somewhat when it is warm checked the fluid its right up there seems almost to be bubbling in the reservoir no noise coming from the pump can you help me?
