Question are all 302's created equal

Hey Everyone, I've gotta 71 ranchero w/ a 302 and I need some heads.
Somebody on e-bay,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEBWA%3AIT

is offering some heads from an "early bronco" for a good price and the heads look right and seem decent.
Will they work on my 71 ranchero, what should I look for ?
appreciate any help.

Thanx

they are small block heads allright, they will work. lots of missing info though- valve sizes, and combustion chamber volume which will determine an increase or loss of compression compared to what you have now? what size engine are they from? which will tell you what the intake port volume is, larger or smaller compared to what you have now? smaller will give better low end velocity through the ports and sacrafice top end. sounds like they are being offered as ready to go, how many miles on them since what kind of work was done to them? they might need a freshen up, or they might be good to go, hard to tell.

i wouldn't buy any heads that someone says they "look" good they need to be checked for warpage and magna flux for cracks cuz a head can look good without running these test but doesn't mean they will run good
