hey everyone, i was looking at purchasing a deezee toolbox for my truck, i was wondering if anyone has had any expierence installing one of them, and how difficult of a job it was. thanks, jfarm
They make hooks that fit under the rail and through the box for a "no drill" application. just tighten the bolts down. it works as long as you don't have a drop in liner. If you do have a drop in liner I just use a toggle bolt drilled through the rail.
If I remember correctly your Screw has a smaller box than most. I had the same problem when looking for one for my XLT Flareside. After searching everywhere, the place I went was Lowes. They have a lot of nice ones and far cheaper than anywhere else. I used self tapping screws as well, one on each side.
I always use an old tie down anchor after the top rusts out.
Just throw away the tie down, keep the butterfly nut from the bottom and replace the tie down with a nut and washer inside the tool box....works great and is removable with no drill holes if you want to keep the toolbox after you sell the truck.
I just got one from tractor supply about 2 weeks ago. Installation was easy, just follow the instructions with it and it shouldn't take you very long, assuming you have a power drill to make the holes for the j-hooks. Then just put the padding that comes with it on and screw it tight. Took me about 15 minutes, no problems.
Yeah, I was talking about drilling the holes in the toolbox itself, i didn't have to drill anything in my truck either. I prolly should have been a little clearer on that.
