Another Pyrometer gauge question.....

I received my Isspro pyrometer setup today, and I have a couple questions.

The gauge I got comes with an signal amplifier box.

Is this box designed to be used in conjunction with the standard Isspro 8ft blue high temp lead wire?

If the wire on the amplifier reaches the thermocoupler, is it necessary to use the 8ft supplied lead wire?

I will be installing the thermocoupler pre-turbo in the up-pipe, so I dont have a huge distance to go, when going through the firewall, so it appears that the lead wire coming out of the amplifier box may reach ther thermocoupler without the 8ft leadwire.

I want to be sure in case the extra lead wire needs to be used for the correct resistance.

The amplifier box must be used for the pyro and the tranny gauge (if you have the tranny gauge).
The pyro gauge has a connector harness that wires to the amplifier as well.
The cable that is provided between the pyro sensor and the amplifier is not long enough to reach through the firewall entry (below the master cyslinder) and you will have to go through a spot that is just above the gas pedal or floorboard area. You will see a rubber plug. Just drill or punch a hole through it.

ISSPRO is the only manufacturer I know that uses the amplifier box between the sensors and the gauges.

Nice looking gauges but the amplifier is kinda of hokey in my opinion.

I got that.....but my question was the opposite; visa versa

Do I need to use the the 8ft lead wire with the amplifier box.

I realize I need to use the amplifier box regardless..........

My thinking is that the yellow and red wires that hook to the thermalcoupler that come off the amplifier box may be long enough without the use of the extended 8 ft lead wire.

Thanks for the reply!

Eric

Sorry,
The one I help put in did not have an "extended wire" that you speak of. If you can reach the amplifier without the "extended wire" then that's what I would do.

ISSPRO Instructions should give you that information on using the extension wire.

You answered my question however, thanks!
