Mounting question.

I found a realy good deal on a set of Infinity 6000cs 6.5" Component speakers.

I drive a 98 F150 ex cab 3 door.

Crutch field says 5.25 inch components are recomended.

if a 6X8 is whats in there from the factory im just wondering if i can make these fit or am i better off looking for a set of 5.25?

you could put an 8" speaker in your door if you wanted to I think the 6.5 will work if you don't mind modiflying the speaker holes to make them fit.(sawzall required)

there may be an adapter plate available for what your trying to do check www.partsexpress.com

if not - I usually make adapter plates out of 1/4" hard board and
coat with a piece of sound deadner
its actually pretty easy if you take your time

6.5's will fit in a 6x8 opening. i have a set in my 6x8 openings and didn't have to modify anything. or just take a grinder or sawzall and make them fit.
