61 dash board questions
I'm working on getting my dash functional but am unsure of a few things. I'm hoping someone might have an easy answers:
1. The labeling of my gages are no longer visible. In regards to the lower indicator lights below the gages; which side is oil and which side is altenator.
2. Does a 1961 have a generator or an alternator? Does the dash label say 'GEN' or 'ALT'?
3. I think the fuel gage (non-working) is on the left and the water temperature gage (psuedo-working) is on the right. When these gages are un-powered, the water gage needle drops to the first tick mark and the fuel gage needle is far to left out of view. I don't think the needle is bent. Where should it read when unpowered?
Thanks!

As for guages, I'm out of luck...both temp and gas don't work. That was fun, driving to Port Angeles from Boise, Idaho, last week. Actually only needed the 5gal can twice, once I got the flow of possible mileage and a 14 gal tank figured out. My gen burned out at 2am, and was towed by Good Sam the last 30 miles home....love the truck. George
