My speedometer, temp gauge and dash lights don't work on my 80 F250 400. Is this something easy to fix? New cable? I've checked all the fuses. Is the speedometer cable relatively inexpensive to fix. What's involved with the temp gauge? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
As for the speedo, might have to go to the junkyard and get one off a different truck, i have a spare for my 78. The temp gauge, go what bigreave said.
Bigreave said:I would take the sending unit loose and gound it out to test the guage.
I'd like to understand this better. I need to learn more about the elec side of trucks.
Ground what to test the gauge? Pull the wire of the sending unit and ground that, the sending unit wire? What will the gauge do then? peg on the right side?
