I have an '83 with a 351 that has a distributor cap/rotor combination I've never seen before. The rotor looks like an upside down soup bowl and has a clip UNDERNEATH that I can't access.
Does anyone know what the proper removal/installation technique is?
I'm stuck. The rotor is in dire need of replacement.
Maybe go and buy the new replacement part and have a good look at it for clues about how it's held on. Often, the guys at the parts stores can find information about any "special" tools that might be needed.
No it is a factory rotor. I ended up losing patience and grabbed the rotor with some pliers and giving a tremendous yank. It came off and nothing broke. I guess this is the proper procedure?? Weirdest thing I ever saw!
sometimes that is a good attitude but sometimes not. I am planning on replacing panels on mine so when it ****es me off grab a hammer and go to town on the fender but it takes alot like 8 hours of nothing going the way i want but if its rusty and you have new ones why not
