85 Seat belt in a 89?

The seat belt in my 89 F150 broke recently. I phoned a wrecker and he told me that a salvaged one would be $90!! half of a new one!!!

Well I am not made of money, so I started to make some phone calls and found that a buddy has an old 85 F150 that he blew the motor in. he said I can take what I want.

My question is will the seat belt fit? I don't want to go ripping appart two trucks to find out that it just won't work.

Thanx, JJ

Ps. I am talking about the recoil part.

Are you questioning the shoulder strap or the small strap attached to floor that the shoulder strap latched to?

I would want to say that they would work. I'm not for sure though. Maybe someone else will come along and verify if it would work.

I also am looking at replacing my seat belts, just the part that is bolted to the floor that the shoulder strap attaches to.

The recoil is broken.

One day it will work fine the next it will not want to rewind and I have to stick a screw driver in to get it to go back in.

Does anyone have a fix for that?

Thanx, JJ
