Ok, I am told that my 91 150 has a in tank high press pump, a single pump only.
My partrs 89 bronc I am told has an in tank low press and an inline high press.
What will I need to do on the 91 to get both those pumps into the 91 working correctly as far as wiring? can I just use the existing wiring and wire them in series or will it not provide enough power for both pumps to run effectively?
Will the intank pump from the bronc work in the 91 150s tank? or are the tanks differant, or at least so much that it would not pick up....not worried if the size differance will keep it from picking up one or two gallons, only matter if it will not pick up say the last 1/4 of a tank.
Why don't you get new pumps for the '91? I'd think you'd have to swap the entire fuel system from the bronco into the truck to get it to work right. The way the 3 pumps are wired is like this: power out of the relay, into the cab to the inertia switch, then from there it splits, one wire to the high pressure pump, the other to the tank selector switch, and then from there power goes to each tank independently so that only one in-tank pump is running at one time. You should be able to splice into the output of the inertia switch and run that to the high pressure in-line pump on the frame rail. It is a lot of work, but I'm sure it's do-able. I'd still think it would be easier and far less time consuming to just buy new high pressure in-tank pumps for the '91.
