I plan on having my truck, below, rewired soon. I am eventually gonna put a really nice entertainment system in it, including two 6.5" 200-Watt speakers, a 10" 1000-watt subwoofer, four 4" 50-watt speakers, a 7.5" in dash DVD player, a digital equalizer, cd/mp3 player, and 2 10" fold down LCDs. I also want to put the new H4 headlights on it, and power windows and doors.
Now, all that being said. How the hell am I supposed to get her to put out enough electricity, I am looking into TWO deep-cycle yellow tops, and maybe go up to a 100-amp alternator, but i dont think that will be enough. Thank you!
If it was me I would lookinto some of the high amp alternators in the 150-250 amp range. that way you have pleanty of power. But be careful because some of thers big alternators will nopt put out much power at idle as rpms increase thwe will put out huge amounts af power. POWER MASTER is a good place to start. I you want to play your entertainment equipment with out the truck running you will need 1-3 deep cycle batterys like you talked about. Make shure they are isolated from the start battery of the truck, other wise it will drain your start battery. If you need more info e-mail me
Didn't know they had alternators for my model that put out that much power! As long as it charges the deep cycle batterys while im driving I think it should be alright. As for three batteries, plus one for starting, I've got TONS of space under the hood, especially with my little 4.9L! I am thinking I am gonna retire my truck from hauling, and turn her into the entertainment vehicle of my dreams! I'm gonna put leather captains chairs (power), and two alarms as well, with remote ignition start, and keyless entry (remote). Anyways, thank you for your help. Nice to get a reply from someone who knows what I'm talking 'bout!
